  TV station or foreign consulting firm? They were flexible and responsive to unusual job hunting concerns.

  I had been using Encourage since the early stages of my job search and used the interviews frequently. I had already decided that I wanted to work at a TV station, but I was worried about 'just one TV station,' so I decided to take measures and apply to foreign-capital consulting firms as well. In addition to my main mentor, I was also introduced to a mentor who had experience with TV stations and foreign consultants, and I am glad that I received generous support.

  When I was finally deciding between key stations and outside consulting, my mentor helped me find a working person who had made the career move from a key station to outside consulting through his contacts, and by listening to him directly, I was able to make a decision that made sense to me.

  'My father is a banker, so I should be too...' That was the reason he started job hunting. Interviews broadened his perspective, and he entered the world of finance with a sense of conviction many times greater than at first.

  Since my father was a banker and I had seen how he worked from his side, I was aiming to become a 'banker' from the beginning, considering my aptitude. My mentor was a woman from another department who had taken megabanks and government-affiliated finance jobs during her job hunting. At the interview, I had only heard about the selection process in the beginning, but she suggested that I broaden my perspective. She gave me opportunities for self-analysis and various options.

  As a result, I had a number of options, including foreign consulting, infrastructure, and investment banking, and I was able to hear from many other mentors who had experience taking those courses. We had about five interviews in total. In the end, I still found a job at a bank, but I think my conviction about my career choice was completely different. Ultimately, you can do job hunting on your own, but if you have someone accompany you, you can make your choice with firm 'confidence.'

  I had planned to job hunt only in the Chugoku region∕Hiroshima Prefecture. Thanks to Encourage, I was able to broaden my job hunting horizons.

  Since senior students from the same university are assigned as mentors, they are always available for consultation on ES preparation, interviews, self-analysis, and so on. I also felt very reassured because there was no one around me whom I could talk to about how to proceed with job hunting as a regional student.
